Curriculum Development from the Perspective of a New English Language Program

While curriculum development may not be the most seductive of topics, it is certainly vital for those involved in language learning and teaching. Curricula play a crucial role in what happens in the classroom. As such, teachers, administrators, learners, and a number of other stakeholders need to come to terms with how their curriculum is innovated and developed within their respective institutions and programs. Making sense of this complex phenomenon is no easy task. However, this presentation takes the audience through curriculum design in a straight forward manner using theoretical models, frameworks, and processes (applicable to any teaching context) implemented in the actual development of a curriculum for a nascent Intensive English Program (IEP).
