LaTESOL Conference Synopsis - Memoir writing improves literacy as well as pedagogical efficacy by contextualizing teachers within students’ backgrounds. This presentation takes writing teachers of all levels and age groups through the process of analyzing model memoirs utilizing Labov’s narrative framework so that students negotiate the genre leading to the composition of personal memoirs.
